Located in the heart of Cairns, Trinity Inlet offers some of the best estuary fishing in North Queensland. Gone Fishing Cairns provides guided fishing charters and fishing experiences for both visitors and locals.
A fishing charter in Cairns is one of the most popular things to do in the region, giving guests the opportunity to explore a productive tropical estuary surrounded by mangroves and mountain scenery.
Trinity Inlet is home to a wide variety of species including barramundi, mangrove jack, trevally, salmon, grunter, jewfish, fingermark, and cod. Around 50 species inhabit the system, meaning every trip offers something different depending on tides and conditions.
All trips begin with collecting live bait using the cast net, which is often a highlight for guests experiencing it for the first time.
We cater for all experience levels and provide all bait and tackle. Our experienced guides focus on teaching correct techniques while ensuring guests have an enjoyable and relaxed fishing experience.
The inlet is also home to diverse wildlife, including sea eagles, kites, and occasional saltwater crocodile sightings, adding to the natural experience of fishing in Cairns.
Our vessel is a fully equipped 8-metre custom-built fishing boat designed for safety, comfort, and performance, with modern electronics, live wells, and twin outboard engines.

Highly Recommend

Fantastic Day Out Fishing
Would highly recommend this fishing trip to anyone travelling to Cairns. The skipper is so friendly and accomodating. He gave clear instructions pre trip and even arranged a local restaurant on the esplanade to cook our fish which was amazing. Thank you for a great day out.

Excellent Fishing Trip!
We booked this half day trip as we wanted to go fishing but were only in Cairns for a few days with our partners. Jacob, the Captain was an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable about fishing. The equipment was good and the boat was comfortable and everyone on board had an excellent time. We caught five species during the trip and Jacob even tried to find a crocodile for us to take a look at. A great little fishing trip that I would recommend to novices and experienced Anglers alike!
Great experience
Great experience taken out by Jacob. He was very knowledgeable and patient with my two young sons. We all caught fish and had a great time. Jacob was awesome, knew the area extensively and was very accommodating, highly recommend for both experienced & inexperienced fisherman!
